The Rt Rev David Hamilton Russell [1] was the 12th Bishop of Grahamstown.[2] He was born on 6 November 1938 and educated at the University of Cape Town .[3] Ordained in 1965,[4] he was a Chaplain to migrant workers and from 1975 to 1986 he was banned and house arrested by the South African Government. He was a Suffragan Bishop in the Diocese of St John’s from 1986 to 1987 and then Bishop of Grahamstown[5] until 2004.
